Anyone who has always daydreamed of surprising friends with baked extravaganza that tastes like bought at Starbucks. Or, anyone who has no energy or time to learn baking the hard way. Sometimes there are shortcuts and this is one. The chart will not turn anyone into a gourmet cook, but it will make anyone create this one dish really well and in gourmet quality. So well, that your friends will ask you how you made it. So well that you will have difficulty buying cinnamon rolls ever again, now that you know how sweet the victory of creating them yourself tastes (and how easy it is to make them, actually).

What's on this chart?

The chart shows images of all steps in creating a spring form full of really great tasting cinnamon rolls. (They should last two people about a week). The images are spread out on a time axis, so you know exactly what to do when and how much time you have in between steps. There is also a visual and a textual list of ingredients.

Should I know how to cook or bake before using this chart?

No. This chart is for absolute beginners. Recipe writers sometimes seem to have forgotten or simply don't know how working in the kitchen feels and functions for absolute beginners. The two main difficulties are multitasking and shortcutting. Beginners are stuck in the kitchen for as long as the recipe demands and the constant thread of creating something uneatable quickly takes the fun out of that tedious process. After a long work day, who needs a failure? This chart makes the process almost foolproof. It takes the pressure out of the performance and turns it into a pleasurable hobby. Sometihing you can do on the side.

Common recipes also leave burning questions unanswered: How long does it really take? Do I need to be in the kitchen the entire time or can I watch my favourite show or look after the kids in between? Who has the time, energy or focus to spend an entire evening standing around in the kitchen doing just one thing? This QUISINOLOGY charts enables multitasking.

And it also takes care of another frequent problem for people who don't cook or bake on a regular basis: the amount of brain energy that is needed to translate abstract written information into concrete kitchen objects and kitchen actions is larger than what the common work day leaves behind. This charts takes one major translation step out of the equation. In QUISINOLOGY, recipes become instantly understandable because a picture says more and does it faster than a thousand words.

How accurate is this?

The timeline on the chart gives a pretty accurate idea on how long it takes on average to create gourmet style cinnamon rolls (about 2 hours). Of course you can always do it faster or slower. You can add or change steps. You can use instant mashed potatoes instead of freshly cooked ones, for example. (These are gourmet-style cinnamon rolls) The chart is not meant to replace creativity or forbid variation. It is like a safety net that catches you and takes the fear factor out of cooking or baking.

How big is this chart?

The chart prints on two letter or A4 size papers. But since it is created in vector format, you can scale it to any size you like, without loss of quality or detail.

This cinnamon roll recipe is a mix of several different recipes from different sources (cook books mainly, but also recipes from the internet). Yes. It fits on two „Letter” (US) or „A4” (Europe) size papers where it is readable with regular eyesight. It is created in vector format, so you can scale it up (or down) to any other paper size without loss of quality. That is if you find it hard to read or want to hang it on the wall, for example.

Can I view this chart on digital devises?

Yes. The chart comes in PDF format so you can carry it around on and open it with any digital device that can display PDFs. It handles just like any regular PDF and can be zoomed in an out without loss of detail or quality so all type is always readable.

Can I edit this chart?

Yes. You can open the file and edit it, write or draw on top of it or copy the text and graphics and use them in your own artwork. The only requirement would be that whatever you do with it adheres to our terms and conditions outlined in the disclaimer.

Can I duplicate and / or distribute this chart?

Will this chart be updated from time to time?

Yes. The chart started with version 1.0. We are currently at 1.1. which fixed some minor graphics issues. Buyers of this chart will automatically get the latest version. If small corrections or updates are made, cartafina will send an updated charts to all previous buyers of this chart free of charge. (please allow 1-2 weeks for this to happen. There is that day job.) And just as with updates of software, big changes or additions will require a new purchase or an upgrade fee. If you bought this chart at some point in the past, come back to this page from time to time to see the latest version.

Can I duplicate and distribute this chart?

Cartafina doesn't believe that files should be protected with digital rights management software but instead thinks that most people will want to pay a fair price for things that enrich their lives. What do I get when I buy this?

You get a ZIP (a compressed document archive) of about 7 MB size containing two PDF documents. You can download the ZIP immediately after your payment. Then, on the Mac, simply double click it to reveal the two PDFs inside. On the PC, you need to get a software to unzip (open) the archive. Searching "open a zip" on google should lead you to sites with little programs that are usually free to downloaded. Once installed, just double click the ZIP and it should open to reveal the two PDFs. To view and print the PDFs, get the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.
